Know all chapter vocabulary (found both in the book and in your notebook!)

Be able to describe features of each ecosystem (biome packet and/or book.)

Know examples of plants and animals that live in each biome (packet and book.)

Know where each zone is located for the ocean biome.

Know that the rainforest ecosystem has the most diversity of living things found in it.

Know difference between freshwater, brackish water and saltwater.

Explain what a climate zone is.

Chapter 5 Test Postponed to 1/22/13

I didn't feel the class was ready or had all the information to take the Chapter 5 test as scheduled for 1/17, so I have postponed until 1/22/13 - next Tuesday.  Please email me at mlbuster@torahacademy.org with any questions.

1/10/13 Update/Chapter 5 test

Happy New Year to everyone.  The class has been working hard on their study of biomes and we will have a test on Chapter 5 next Thursday, January 17.  This will be the last grade for the 2nd quarter, so I hope they do well.  I will send home a study guide in their Friday folders so they can start reviewing over the weekend.

Chapter 4 open book quiz 12/20/12

There will be an open book quiz on Chapter 4 next Thursday, Dec. 20.  The children will access to their books and any notes that we take.  Rereading the chapter and practicing the vocabulary will be the best way to prepare for this quiz!  Please email me with any questions at mlbuster@torahacademy.org

Chapter 3 Test 12/7/12 Study Guide

·       Know all of Chapter 3 vocabulary

·       Understand food chains and food webs and ecosystems

·       Be able to describe importance of sunlight in photosynthesis

·       Understand levels in an energy pyramid

*****All of this can be found in your book and your notes, so be studying from both of those things this week!  The pictures and diagrams in your books are very useful too.

Chapter 3 Test 12/7/12

I know it seems like we just had a test, but I am announcing the Chapter 3 test for next Friday, December 7.  I wanted to be sure to get that in before all the Chanukah festivities begin.  The children already have notes and vocabulary they can begin studying so there won't have to be any last minute cramming!
